Kala Tenor Guitar w/ Solid Spruce Top
Presenting the Kala Tenor Guitar! In recent years, the tenor guitar has made a bit of a comeback since falling into relative obscurity in the 1940s due to the popularity of traditional flattop acoustics and eventually the electric guitar. There has been a steady, niche market for these instruments. As the Ukulele has become more and more popular, along with the popularity of small string bands, the Tenor guitar has become a great option for tonal diversity. For tenor banjo and mandolin players, this Kala Tenor Guitar offers a very easy transition as many of the chord and scale patterns apply to this instrument tuned in 5ths. It’s tuning is similar to a Viola or Cello, C-G-D-A. The sound is lighter and less bass driven than a typical 6-string acoustic guitar, but has less treble than the mandolin. Try one out and see for yourself, the Kala Tenor Guitar sounds great!
